Journal Page

Playing around with a new journal page today using the cute little free stamp from this months Craft Stamper

I really like the way the trees have turned out (although they are not too clear on this picture)

Flowers

The bargain Costco papers were calling to me this morning, so I just had to have a little play.  I got out the trusty Bigshot, tattered florals die (my fave) and..................voila :)

The 3-D one was from a video tutorial on the Artful Splodgers blog...........very pretty........but I think it might need some extra glue to keep it all together as the cardstock is quite thick.

Now that I have made something with the papers, I am a happy bunny.

Hope you are all having a crafty Friday too

Crafty Thursday

After all my hard efforts yesterday with housework and gardening, I promised myself a crafty day today.

Finished the mini-book I started earlier in the week.  I have added to the front cover as it looked a bit unbalanced before and have kept it simple inside.

We have some lovely pictures from the Lake District so I am going to get the OH to photoshop some to make them look vintage and print them in sepia.

Spent the rest of the time playing with my new stamps.

I am signing off now because the PC is being a pain and taking forever to load things

Bargain Buy

We went to Costco this afternoon for some things and I found this BARGAIN

I am ashamed to say I got quite excited when I saw them on the shelf and started drooling, especially when I saw the price - £6.97 plus VAT.

The papers are in a very good quality carry case and there are 300 of them - 4 pages of 75 different designs

How sad am I getting excited about paper - I want to play now - Watch this space

February Challenge

I decided to have a go at the new February Challenge on UK Stampers which was to create a piece of art using image transfer and stamping.

The birdcage image is Tilda and I found some very old transfer paper which I have had kicking around for about 10 years.  Wasn't sure if it would still be any good but had a go anyway.  The image is a bit blurry, but I decided that was fine as it fitted in with the distressed look I wanted.

I used distress inks and stamped the board and made a tattered floral inked and stamped flower

The birdcage has been padded using wadding on the back and machine stitched all around and I have sewn on some little beads.

I dont own a fancy binding machine so its just two holes with the trusty hole punch and some binding rings.
I shall add more pages some other time and make it into a mini album.

All in all a very enjoyable little afternoons project whilst I am still carless and its freezing cold out

Journal Page

Today I am grounded because  Hubby has my car for work as he is waiting for his new one at the garage.....so......I decided to do another page in the art journal.

This stuff is all new to me, so I have really not much idea about what I am doing, but I have decided just to have a go and see what evolves.

I have gone from liking to hating to liking to hating to liking again with this page, BUT have decided that is part of the fun and the learning curve.

The image of the girl is from a collage sheet from Lisa's Altered Art

I had no idea when I started how it would end up and the sentiment only materialised after I had stamped the two birds, it just popped into my head then.

I shall have to watch some technique videos to get some more ideas............Guess the housework will have to wait a little bit longer.....hehe

Valentines

Today I have a poorly laptop, so am having to use hubbys desktop which is just not the same.

I have spent this morning sorting some things out for a Valentines Fayre on Sunday which is being hosted by the charity I volunteer for.   I am having a table as BellaBoos Attic, and hopefully will sell some of my ever increasing makes.
